"But what of Geoff Trenchard, Kennedy’s comrade-in-barbs, co-creator of Tourettes freewheeling, dirty-dealing vaudeville show? The tattooed Trenchard can hold his own, and has done so alongside McSweeney’s protegee Chinaka Hodge on the most recent season of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, and as a Bay Area Poetry Slam Champion since 2000.”
- East Bay Express, January 7, 2004

"Trenchard was by far the more humorous writer of the four, beginning his first piece with an insider’s look at being a waiter on the night shift at Denny’s. But with this ironic attitude and cynically humorous commentary on people and their downfall, there is a wholly serious message that pervades his work. At one point, his protagonist recognizes a girl from his high school looking for lost serotonin and innocence in the end of her cigarette while standing outside Denny’s. Trechard delivers his poetry as if he is having a greatly exaggerated conversation with the audience. His face is expressive as he speaks, and he gives a very candid picture of his own self-image. Trenchard has found the prose in poetry."
